The WARDOGS release date was September 10, 2026 for Steam Early Access. The game is now available on PC. That date marks the beginning of Early Access, not the release of a finished 1.0 version.
Current release timeline
- February 5, 2026: Team17 published the reveal.
- August 21–23, 2026: the first Closed Beta weekend; the August 24 recap confirmed it ended.
- September 2026: Beta 02 followed and was opened to the public before ending ahead of launch.
- September 10, 2026: Steam Early Access launched.
- 2028: the announced console window, without a specific release day.
Closed Beta before release
The old pre-purchase offer guaranteed access to a pre-launch test. It is historical and should not be presented as a current reason to buy a Beta license. Use the playtest history for completed batches and future registration; use Steam to purchase the current game.
What Early Access means
The Steam FAQ describes a playable core that will continue to receive content, balance and performance work. Its estimated development duration is not a fixed 1.0 release date. Read Early Access for the scope of the plan and Price for regional purchasing information.
Confirmed platform
The current release is Windows PC through Steam. Team17 lists PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, while the launch announcement gives a console window of 2028. That does not mean a console version is playable today. See PS5 status and Download for the appropriate next action.
