Ammunition and equipment
The AK74 uses the 5.45×39 mm ammunition family in documented records. Begin in the weapon’s vendor screen, select a supported magazine, select the ammunition type, and confirm that the ready magazine enters the weapon or backpack. Carry loose ammunition only if you know how to refill the magazines during downtime.
The versioned record lists 30-, 60- and 75-round magazine families and several AK-pattern attachment slots. Availability and unlock level must be checked in the current interface. Do not buy 5.56 ammunition simply because the AK74 and M4 share an assault-rifle role.
When to consider it
Consider the AK74 when you want a general infantry rifle and can afford the full kit while retaining a reserve. It is a better fit for repeated medium-distance infantry work than a specialist launcher or sniper purchase, but no rifle fixes poor route choice, an empty magazine or a lack of medical equipment.
Use semi-auto when ammunition discipline matters and full auto only when the distance and recoil allow it. These are operating principles rather than a claim that the AK74 is the current best Assault weapon.
Compare another option
Compare the current weapon roster by access, ammunition, task and total repeat-kit cost. The Season 02 order differs from the launch order, so an older higher-level or cheaper-weapon comparison is not a current ranking.
