What the FOB entry covers
The Forward Operating Base is the core deployment item for a player-built position. It establishes the place where construction resources are received and nearby structures are built. It is not automatically a spawn point, a completed fortress or a Hot Zone pull by itself.
This page covers the item and deployment decision. The broader building guide covers structures, logistics and long-term operation.
Official purchase changes
The Season 1 launch update raised the FOB vendor price from an earlier $2,500 record to $7,500. It also raised the Large Hammer deployment price to $2,400 and changed the permanent Large Hammer access to Support level 8 and $75,000.
Those are different purchases. Confirm the current FOB contents, hammer choice and total supply cost before leaving base.
What else you need
A working first deployment needs:
- A player carrying the FOB item.
- A valid placement area and a route the team can defend.
- A suitable hammer for the planned structures.
- Build supplies for construction.
- Fuel, ammunition or mechanical supplies when the planned systems require them.
- A truck or helicopter plan when backpacks cannot carry enough.
The FOB is the receiving core. Cargo must be unloaded or transferred successfully before builders rely on it.

01 Read the missing-resource warningA valid blueprint can still stop when the local stock lacks the required supply. Read the warning, check the FOB stock on the map and request the named resource instead of adding more unrelated cargo.

Placement and replenishment
Use the placement preview and avoid steep, obstructed or isolated ground. Leave room around the core, keep at least one vehicle approach open and protect the supply transfer point. Check the map and objective before committing to a distant site.
After a delivery, verify the base stock instead of assuming proximity is enough. Ask for the exact missing supply type and provide a destination that a driver or pilot can identify. The vehicle guide helps choose transport for the route.
The current public workflow is corroborated by an Early Access FOB guide and an August 28 vehicle-and-cargo video. Pallets can be dropped beside the base and unloaded into FOB stock, while small crates require players to take the contents into inventory and transfer them at the FOB terminal. The cargo video shows the default prompts as G to drop and hold F to unload; always follow the binding displayed by the current client.
Drills and the objective
A fueled drill can interact with the Hot Zone in current operation records, while towers provide another objective mechanism. The FOB alone does not pull the Hot Zone. Build the drill, deliver fuel, confirm its active state and keep players performing the objective.
Do not rely on an old radius, fuel minimum or activation time without checking the current interface. Early Access balance can change how a strategically strong FOB is powered or countered.
On the expanded map, hover the friendly FOB or castle marker before loading a return trip. Community guides report that the marker exposes the base's Build, Fuel, Ammo and Mechanical stocks, which prevents a truck from hauling a full pallet of the wrong resource.
Data version and next steps
The current $7,500 price and hammer changes come from the official Season 1 announcement. Placement and delivery prompts in the current client remain the final check for the deployment workflow.

Official changes use first-party announcements. Item fields without a current official table remain labeled as dated gameplay records until they can be checked in the public client.
