Battlefield size and active area
WARDOGS separates the large playable terrain from the randomized 2 × 2 km Control Zone used for scoring. The full map provides roads, settlements, forests, elevation and long logistics routes; only the active zone determines which team earns match points. Read the live map before repeating a route from the previous match.
The smaller Hot Zone can shift the immediate focus again. A static overview is useful for orientation, but it never replaces the current objective and friendly markers.
Map names and coverage
Official public sources describe the scale and randomized objective system but do not provide a complete, versioned map catalog. Use the map or session label shown by the current client when coordinating with a squad, and confirm that everyone is looking at the same build and objective. Early Access updates and server configuration can change which battlefield content is available.
Read your current match first
Before leaving base:
- Identify the current Control Zone and Hot Zone.
- Find the team’s main movement route and active spawn asset.
- Check whether the intended destination is reachable by road, helicopter or foot.
- Mark a fallback route if the primary approach is blocked.
- Recheck the map after the zone, tower state or team front changes.
Use local terrain for cover and orientation, but coordinate the destination with the squad. A detailed map cannot know whether a bridge, road or FOB is currently safe.
Plan a delivery route
A logistics route needs a source, cargo, receiving position and return path. Leave enough space for the vehicle to unload and turn around. Avoid committing a slow truck to a narrow approach without confirming that the FOB still needs the carried supply type.
For infantry, evaluate exposure, distance to teammates and revive access. For aircraft, choose a landing area and alternate. Continue to vehicles and building for those workflows.
Use map tools responsibly
An interactive map can help with shared drawing and terrain orientation, but first confirm that its battlefield version, scale and labels match the current server. Treat coordinates as navigation aids rather than guaranteed firing data. Indirect fire also depends on the current projectile model and elevation, so correct shots through observation and team communication.
